Even with the current, second generation, car in high demand, the third generation Toyota Prius will debut at the January North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan.
The third generation car should be a greater step forward than the second was to the first as Toyota responds to challenges from within the industry. The next Honda Insight for example, is supposed to coming in at a lower price point than the current Prius while providing comparable economy.
Look for the third generation car to be that much more efficient and more affordable. Also look for a Lexus variant, though it is said that it will be markedly different from its Toyota sibling.
Our Take? Good to know, but we're still waiting for the mainstream hybrid that will push our enthusiast's button as well
