The sale of luxury vehicles has been affected by the current economic situation (i.e., going down). But, surprisingly, it appears that the sale of luxury cars is doing well in the markets of emerging nations.
A big example is Russia. BMW expects to sell 20,000 units of its "Ultimate Driving Machine" this year in the former Soviet Union and has planned out a growth program of 20 percent a year from 2009. Overall, BMW and Mini brands have seen an increase of 33 percent in sales in Russia in the first six months of this year.
Then there's China. Sales for BMW in that country has soared by 25 percent. India, too, is making its mark. BMW sales there have jumped 269 percent.
