Hummer and Why No One's Interested

You could say that General Motors is entertaining a lot of lookie loues but no serious buyers as far as the sale of Hummer is concerned.

What’s scaring companies away is the “terrific” (just kidding) Hummer gas mileage. The SUV averages between 9 and 14 miles a gallon. That’s impressive ..... for a vehicle that guzzles gas.

There was a time when big and ostentatious was a good thing for many American motorists. But with the price of gas hovering at $4 a gallon, big is no longer beautiful. And that is what potential buyers are saying, too. They don’t want to be saddled to a behemoth no one wants to own.

So, if GM can’t attract a buyer, then what? Will it be forced to keep Hummer and do some kind of downsizing to make the vehicle more humble? Or will they take it behind the shed and put it out of its misery? Time will tell.
