2009 Pontiac G3, the Car Behind the Mask

Blatantly ripping off a car isn’t a big deal so long as you’re doing it to yourself.

General Motors' Pontiac brand is more famous for its muscle than its finesse, but everyone has to keep up with the times and go efficient. So GM has added the G3 as the brand's decent mileage car. As Automobile Magazine reports, the Pontiac G3 is, for all intents and purposes, a rebranded Chevrolet Aveo.

Somehow, the addition of fog lamps and air conditioning as standard equipment is supposed to be enough of a makeover to make us forget about the slightly cheaper Aveo. The Pontiac G3 will have a base price of around $15,000.

Our take? We would hope to assume that General Motors will discontinue the Aveo brand. Redundancy doesn’t seem like it will win them any points, but crazier things have happened.
