Perhaps Nissan saw that, once its initial onslaught on the market with the GT-R was over, there would be competitors.
Or maybe the execs simply knew that if they came out with the "hot" version right away, the standard car would would be non-seller. Whatever the reason may be, a faster GT-R will be upon us shortly.
A faster version; a more capable version of a car that only recently redefined its respective category.
That sound you just heard was a collective sigh of disbelief from the rest of the industry.
As to whether or not the car Will carry Nissan's tradition Spec-V designation assigned to its quicker variants or a new "Evolution" tag, is still not known. What is most assuredly true though is that the car will have more power, rumors now stating an extra 100 horsepower (bringing the total to 580 hp), and less weight. Two hundred pounds less weight will undoubtedly bring the car that much closer to being an all out sports car instead of a really capable GT.
Our take? Though rumors, if the car is that much more powerful and lighter, it could be a Veyron like moment in the industry.
