The GT-R is a special car.

Nissan has managed to create with it one of those automobile that is second to none in its class, and more significantly, redefines just what we should expect from cars of its type.

Part of what makes the car so special is the amount of work Nissan puts into its production to ensure that the car will not be lacking for quality. The motor especially, shows the attention to detail that helps o make the car so great.

Assembled by a lone individual in a clean room like those used by microchip manufacturers, 700 parts over some 100 minutes go from being simple pieces of metal and plastic to the heart and soul of the GT-R. Each motor is then tested to ensure that power claims are not that; more than just a claim, but a fact. A 60 minute test including break-in must be passed with motor providing power levels within 3% of the cars 480 hp.

Considering that environmental factors alone could contribute that much deviation, it is no wonder that a few motors fail the test weekly, and why every GT-R seems so quick.

Our Take? When the whole car is created under that level of care and consideration, it is no wonder that the GT-R has become so highly acclaimed.
