According to Carfax.com, while hybrid popularity has risen, it has not come at the expense of interest in SUVs. People still want SUVs; it’s just a matter of whether or not they can afford them.
SUVs at the right price (basically a low price), with a clear history, still attract buyers. Some vehicles have had consumer activity increase by as much as 3000 percent over the last ten years.
These ten SUV and crossover vehicles top the charts with at least nine times more activity than a year ago:
Kia Rondo – 3600 %
Jeep Patriot – 2477 %
Buick Enclave – 2242%
Mazda CX-9 – 1631%
Land Rover LR2 – 1166%
Saturn Outlook – 1116%
Lincoln MKX – 1040%
Suzuki SX4 – 1001%
Hyundai Tucson – 910%
GMC Acadia – 906%
Our take? The real question is: Were the above searches done by people looking to drop a lower quality SUV or were they looking to purchase an SUV for the first time?
