They say that no man is an island, but if you drive a soon-to-be-released Chrysler, you will be an island that features your own WiFi hotspot.

The technology is called the Uconnect Web System. Microsoft, which assisted Ford with its SYNCE infotainment system, is assisting Chrysler in producing the technology which will allow the user direct access to the Internet from the dashboard. and it is expected to be in 2009 model year cars offered by Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge.

The company will also be including, dual DVD players and screens, SIRIUS Backseat TV, voice command through Bluetooth to command the navigation system, satellite radio, and voice mail.

Our take? Surfing on the Internet while driving? And folks thought talking on the cellphone was bad.
