Ferrari looks to Hybrids to Reduce Carbon Emissions

The hybrid possibility becomes essential after the auto maker said that it intends to cut CO2 emissions from its cars

The type of hybrid system being discussed is what is called a “mild hybrid.”  Two engines -- a standard internal combustion and an electric, compose the system. The energy from the braking system charges the battery of the latter system to provide boost as well starting the engine.

Ferrari is considering the use of a turbocharged V6 engine that can burn an ethanol blend.
