The Ralliart mates a version of the EVO turbo motor and the top-of-the- line MR twin clutch transmission with what amounts to the AWD system form the previous EVO IX. The 237 hp, 253 lb-ft of torque engine of the Ralliart gives the car performance comparable to competitor Subura WRX.
Handling however, always an advantage to the EVO, has filtered down admirably to the “lesser” model. Only the Ralliart's standard tire choice preventing it from putting closer to EVO numbers.
Price, unfortunately, is more than slightly dear than the WRX, as fully optioned Mitsubishi models may reach $30,000.
Our take? Oddly enough, the Ralliart is a good thing for Subaru fans. The WRX has been left to its own devices for so long, it has... well let's just say Subaru has to raise its game to meet the latest competitor. If the past shows us anything, Mitsubishi's middle child is but an opening volley it wall will be a back to back battle between the brands.
