Ever since Ford Motor Co. sold its luxury Jaguar and Land Rover brands to our friends the Tatas of India, there have been rumors swirling that it intended to sell Volvo next.
No, no, Ford execs were quoted as saying. No way will we be selling Volvo. But the rumors persist.
Now comes word that Ford has been talking with Renault about the sale of Volvo. Reports say that Ford has also talked to Dongfeng Motors Group, China’s third-largest automaker.
Despite all of this, Ford continues to say that Volvo is not for sale.
Our take? Sigh. So the rumors and the denials continue.
