Believe it or not, the Ford Mustang celebrates its 45th birthday this year. And to celebrate, Ford expects to release just 45,000 retail versions of the 2009 model. We guess that’s 1,000 for every year of the car’s existence.
To celebrate, each anniversary model will be marked as an anniversary model. These include a special badge, "Warriors-In-Pink" trim, and a glass roof (optional).
A redesigned Mustang slated for release in 2010 will be shown later this year.
Our take? Ford's pony is soon going to be facing stiff competition as the Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger take it on for the title of muscle car. Hope the upcoming 2010 Mustang's ready for the challenge.
