First, Tata Motors acquired Jaguar and Land Rover from Ford. Now comes word that both Tata and rival Mahindra & Mahindra have approached General Motors about acquiring Hummer.
Pundits say that Tata will not gain anything from the purchase of Hummer. M&M, on the other hand, could gain by obtaining another means to get into the U.S. market.
