HUMMER, despite reassurances from parent company General Motors, appears to be in jeopardy.
The top clue comes from GM's own announcement that the Hummer will be under "strategic review" for possible dissolution.
Fueling the fear is the mail communication received recently by dealers, informing them that a broker has been picked out to help sell off the Hummer brand if necessary. Other signs include the next-generationo H3 is no longer in active development, and the H4 has been shelved.
Note the above information only applies to the domestic market. Apparent in international markets, the Hummer is actually picking up steam, but it'll take some heavy convincing to get things back on track domestically.
Our take? The Hummer hasn't finished its run, but it looks like things are getting down to the wire for the iconic brand.
