So now that TV is becoming prominent at the pump, which gas station provider is the largest? That honor goes to PumpTop TV. The company claims it now has 6,000 LCD screens on fuel pumps at more than 550 gas stations in the U.S.
And the company wants more. They expect to reach more than 100 million gas consumers each month. That doesn’t sound unreasonable when you discover that four stations sign on to the service each and every day and they also expect to have PumpTop TV available to more than 1,100 gas stations in the largest U.S. markets by the end of this year.
The service offers a five minute program of news and entertainment. Programming includes news video from ABC, local maps from Google with real time traffic information and weather, sports and other news and entertainment content. And, yes, of course, we can’t forget that there are also advertising.
Our take? We guess they could put a TV on the doors of the toilet stalls at public buildings.
