Adhering to Mazda's naming scheme, the Mazda 1 will be a car even smaller than the current (not in the US) Mazda 2. Small enough in fact, to rival the Ford Ka and other European superminis.

The most significant aspect of the car's introduction at the Paris motor show isn't even the car itself. Instead, it is the corporate style that is to be showcased by its exterior.

The Mazda 1 will be the first of Mazda's offerings to draw inspiration from the Nagari concept. Look for the car to incorporate the curving side character lines, aggressive front detailing, and the sort of mechanical organic style of the concept in general.

Our take? At least it won't look run-of-the-mill. If it lives up to “Zoom-zoom”, it could actually be very cool.
