The XH-150 Extreme hybrid SUV is the AFS Trinity Power Corporation's answer to the problem of what will propel our cars in the future.

It is comprised of a typical hybrid setup, which is a gas motor coupled to an electric motor and batteries.

With a combined 370 horsepower, 200 of which is from electric power alone, the SUV (based on a Saturn) is capable of reaching 60 in 6.9 seconds, as well as traveling 40 miles at up to 87 mph on electric power alone.

A plug-in hybrid by design, the XH-150 actually boasts better performance than its conventional counterpart. Owners could theoretically spend as little as the equivalent to $19 a week.

Our take? A viable solution from someone other than than the established players. The Chevrolet Volt better deliver with options like this.
