2008 Pontiac G8: What Pundits would Change

Pundits are analyzing the new Pontiac G8 GT. Question is: what do they think?

Well, reports Leftlane News, many editors thinks it looks good. They say that the styling of the muscle cars is reflected in the aggressive look.

The car is powered by a 6-liter V8 engine that has  385 lb-ft. of torque and they say that it is “a strong performer.” They like it (duh) and also point out it is stronger than the Charger, which generates 335 horsepower. And they like the GM's cylinder deactivation system aka "Active Fuel Management" system, which shuts down four cylinders for better fuel economy. The 6-speed automatic transmission is smooth and they like the Blaupunkt entertainment system.

They aren’t too keen on the racer hood scoops. Nore  the seats. They are six way power for the driver’s seat, which they call “a halfway measure.” A twist knob is used to adjust the rake of the seat back but the editor prefers power adjustments.

Bottom line decision? The G8, they say, is a good car. But GM may have rushed things because a lot of what the car lacks or has is due to its Holden design. They believe that some changes may be necessary to make this a great car.
