Toyota takes trademarks to bring Lexus IS closer to reality

As if the commitment to an expanded model line and development mules being spotted abroad weren't enough, more fuel has been added to the fire by a posting on the My.IS forums that certain nameplates have been trademarked.

The news? The IS250C, IS300C, and IS350C are now the property of Lexus.

The car itself is designed to be a competitor to the class leading BMW 3-Series, much in the way its sedan sibling rivals the 3-Series sedan.

Our take? As nice a proposition an IS coupe is, we really long for a IS coupe F. We're greedy like that.
