Can Saturn handle Mainstream Transition?

One could say that the General Motors division known as Saturn offered so-so vehicles since its inception. The cars were okay. But they just didn’t attract a lot of attention.

Things appear to be different today. Perhaps because it has a “young” fleet -- its oldest model is only two years old -- Saturn is building a reputation. The editors of car magazines appear to be praising it and surveys like J.D. Powers and Polk seem to be giving it good reviews.

How did the division make the transition? They took models from GM’s Opel division in Europe. The lineup includes the Sky roadster, the Aura, the Vue and the Astra. All of these cars have roots to Opel.

Our take? So, it just goes to show you, the family shouldn’t ignore the plain jane cousin. There could be so much she can contribute.
