So, what makes a “super car?” Is it the price? Is it the performance capability? Is it both? Saleen, an American company involved with the Ford Mustang, has released a super car that could match with Porsche 911 and all-new Audi R8.
Called the Saleen S5S Raptor, the two-seater car is powered by a mid-mounted 5.0 liter, V8 engine. Joining the 'Green Movement,' the Rapton run on E85 bioethanol. (Though why would a buyer who can afford this car want to do so.)
Some of its performance features include a supercharger that boosts it to 650 horsepower and a six speed manual gearbox. There’s also 20-inch wheels and high performance brakes with six pot calipers. The Raptor, of course, is rear wheel drive.
The maker says that it can go from 0-60mph in a quick 3.2 seconds and it has a top speed of 202 mph. The auto is kept light in weight because of an aluminum chassis.
Additional information and images can be found at Auto Express. Our take? Obviously, this car will be expensive. Still, the manufacturer has not announced a price.
