Volkswagen R32 gets an Abt Sportline Tune Up (and how!)

Where the regular R32 almost has to rely on its luxuriousness and Germaneness to make a case for itself against such stout, similarly priced competitors as the Japanese rally replica Sti and EVO, the Abt Sportline R32 looks to best its competitors in performance as well.

Supercharged and liquid cooled, controlled by a new ECU and with braking and suspension tweaks to ensure a balance package, the Abt Sportline R32 pushes itself to 6o in 5 seconds. Some 1.2 seconds faster than a standard R32 and much closer to the rally reps.

Our take? It's seems it's easier to make an R32 faster than it is to improve the interiors of the Japanese cars.
