April 7, 2008 - New York, NY - Toyota today was named one of DiversityInc's Top 50 Companies for Diversity, finishing 48th overall in the magazine's eighth annual survey.

Toyota's 2008 inclusion marks the second time the company has been recognized by DiversityInc. The annual DiversityInc Top 50 Companies for Diversity® competition is an editorial process, entirely driven by metrics obtained in a detailed survey. Top 50 companies demonstrate consistent strength in four areas: CEO Commitment, Human Capital, Corporate and Organizational Communications, and Supplier Diversity.

Commenting on the DiversityInc survey, Dian Ogilvie, senior vice president at Toyota Motor North America, said, "At Toyota, we consider diversity and inclusion to be a top priority and we are honored to be recognized for the second time by DiversityInc. An award like this reminds us that regardless of any successes, there is still much work to do in every aspect of our business, including employment, procurement, and dealer development."

To help meet these goals, Toyota has worked closely with its Diversity Advisory Board (DAB), which was formed six years ago and provides outside perspective and guidance to the company. Chaired by former Secretary of Labor Alexis Herman, the
DAB consists of eight prominent leaders, including former Congressman Jack Kemp, and establishes clear goals for Toyota's efforts and commitment to nurturing inclusion and diversity in the workplace.

"Top 50 companies have clarity of their absolute values of human dignity, demonstrating a global adherence to these core beliefs," said Luke Visconti, Partner and Co-founder of DiversityInc. "These sustainable values drive margin."
