Due to conditions like high gas prices and the 'green' revolution, pundits and ordinary people have mourned the death of the muscle car.

But they just keep coming back.

There was the death of the Camaro in 2002 and it will be back in 2009. And the death of the Challenger in 1974 and its returning this year. And the Mustang just keeps on going on.

Gas costs $3 or more a gallon. So what? People want there muscle car. So what if the house is being foreclosed and there's barely have the money to keep up payments on the Mustang. To heck with that! We're keeping the Mustang!

Say it with me: Yes, sir! We love our muscle cars. And through hell or high water, we are not going to give them up!

The auto makers know all of this. Why do you think they keep introducing new cars with those amazing horsepower specs like the Cadillac CTS-V with 500 horsepower. Muscle cars continue to attract attention at the auto shows. And the category is also buoyed by the tremendous specialty automotive aftermarket. Just ask SEMA.

Our take? We’ve said this once and we will say it again, Americans love their muscle cars. From the Dodge Challenger and Chevrolet Camaro to the Ford Mustang, we just can’t get enough of them.

If Coskata makes good on its promise to produce $1 per gallon ethanol, watch the muscle-car resurgence happen all over again with E85-compatible beasts.
