Dodge Viper to drive into Sunset?

When money needs to be saved sometimes some cool things have to be thrown into the wastebasket and we are all the losers for it.

According to eGMCarTech, Chrysler is going to discontinue its Dodge Viper in order to have funds to save its mass-market Sebring and Avenger. New owner Cerberus is especially eager to bite life-support if the Viper doesn't continue to be a "halo" to the rest of the brand (i.e., bring consumers into dealerships).

All we can say is, what a shame.

In other news, the company announced that it plans a major update of the Chrysler 300 Sedan for release during the 2011 model year.
