All of you car buffs who want to be one of the first to use new technology will like this piece.

The Special Edition 2008 Ford Mustang Bullitt was recently introduced this year sporting a variety of technologies. One of them, a new adaptive spark-ignition technology, will be appearing on all production Mustangs in 2008.

According to Ward's Auto, the engine offers a torque boost of 10 lb.-ft. between 1,000 RPM and 4,000 RPM. The technology can determine within seconds what type of gasoline is being injected into the engine and adjusts the spark to apply maximum torque. Horsepower will get a small boost when high-octane gasoline is used but the real improvement is to the torque.

This new technology allows the car’s engine to run on either regular or premium gasoline.

Our take? Obviously, Ford is not intimidated by the Dodge 2008 Challenger or the Chevrolet 2009 Camaro. We guess Ford, with this Mustang, is saying in no uncertain terms, “Bring it on!”
