ORLANDO, FLA. - The road is the new “Red Carpet,” at least this time around for eight Volkswagen Triple White Beetle (TWB) convertibles, which will grace the parade trail at this year’s popular Spherion Orlando Citrus Parade. This is Volkswagen’s second year participating in the parade, which will air live on December 29, 2007 at 11:00a.m. EST on ABC.

Volkswagen Beetles will be escorting popular characters of old and new, including Lucy Ricardo, Marilyn Monroe, Dora the Explorer, Olive Oyl and Popeye and Winnie and Woody Woodpecker. Returning co-hosts, Chris Harrison, of “The Bachelor” and Jane Robolot, of WYFF in Greenville S.C., will provide play-by-play commentary of the event.

Volkswagen’s TWB convertibles are a special edition model that was inspired by the original 1976 model. With Campanella White exterior and white interior showcasing the New Beetle convertible logos embossed in the head restraints, the 3,000 special editions in circulation makes this car a perfect fit for this iconic event.

This Orlando grown parade has become a staple nationally and internationally, drawing in crowds of nearly 85,000 people, reaching millions of viewers via its 150 markets and internationally-syndicated broadcasts, which are expected to air in Canada and the UK. Distinguished by floats made from over 100,000 pieces of citrus, the parade is recognized as one of the nation’s largest sports-affiliated parades. This year’s parade theme "Living the Good Life," will be a unique experience for family and a beacon of community spirit.
