It seems like everyone has the desire to throw in their two cents worth when it comes to evaluating something.
Perhaps the one profession that is more guilty of this than others is the field of journalism. We're not bashing others -- we, at Automotive.com, have all done so in prior publications.
Well, in this case, the editors of Cartruckingindex.com joined the club and recently made their list of what they call the “top” hybrids. Here are some who make it on their list and their rankings:
1. Toyota Prius
3. Toyota Camry Hybrid
4. Honda Accord Hybrid (pictured, now discontinued)
5. Nissan Altima Hybrid
6. Ford Escape Hybrid
8. Lexus GS 450H
Their list includes reasons to buy -- fuel economy, cost, safety, and review -- and reasons not to buy -- specs for one. Our take? We've seen the same over and over again: the Prius is number one with the rest struggling to follow. It will be interesting to see who are the latest entries -- and winner -- of the Green Car of the Year award and this year's Los Angeles Auto Show. May the Prius get finally knocked off its perch?
