Man, this is a good time to be driving a car. So many companies, from computer, Internet to audio and audio-video, are coming out with so many new gadgets that keep us entertained and informed as we traverse the roads of this country.
Now comes word that Victor Company of Japan (JVC) and Kenwood will work together in a joint partnership to produce new car electronics technologies, new technologies for the home, and new portable audio products.
According to TWICE, the joint venture is 50-50 and the two companies will have a total of 130 employees. The two companies, which currently sell about 200,000 to 300,000 navigation systems a year, plan to increase their sales to 1 million units per year.
Our take? With all the cool things coming out for the car from both the aftermarket and the carmakers themselves, it shouldn't be surprising to see a whole lot of cool and perhaps unexpected things in our cars or for our cars in the not-to-distant future. Bring 'em on!
