Bloomberg reports that German automaker is considering the possibility of purchase another automobile brand, creating one, or both. Representatives point to the success of Japanese companies' ability to build up a brand from scratch and other companies that have acquired brands as reasons why it is considering the move.

A new brand, whether purchased or created, would give BMW four divisions: BMW, Rolls Royce, and MINI.
