The European Union has a tough reputation, coming up with all sorts of very tough regulations that both members and exporters must comply with.
Well, it seems that the Chinese automaker of the Landwind SUV has been able to get European-type approval for two of its vehicles, the 4x4 Expedition and the Fashion MPV (pictured).
Note that Landwind was the first Chinese auto manufacturer to actually appoint a distributor to Europe two years ago but the first SUV they intended to introduce was kept out of the market because it had failed a crash test. Apparently the company learned from that harsh lesson and the vehicle now meets Euro emissions and crash test requirements.
Both of the new vehicles are expected to get approvals on NCAP crash test ratings next month.
More details can be found at Auto Industry. Landwind is a subsidiary of Jianling Motor Holdings which has a joint venture agreement in China with Ford and Mazda.
