General Motors' South Korean Investment

Probably with an eye on the global market, American automotive giant General Motors will be investing more than $6 billion into its Daewoo subsidiary in South Korea during the next four years.

According to Channelnewsasia, GM Daewoo will be expanding its engineering center in Inchon, Korea to take on 2,500 more engineers. It will be opening up a new test center near Seoul. Apparently Daewoo will be developing new mini and subcompact vehicles which it will export to developing countries under the GM moniker.

Our take? The United Auto Workers are probably none to please with this piece of news as it hammers -- again -- GM's new, more international outlook.
