Luxist reports that the German car maker has negotiated an agreement with Allison SpA for the production and sale of eyeglasses and eyeglass frames. The deal calls for 40 different designs of the glasses and frames to be offered.
Prices range from $233 to $330 for the eyeglass frames and $220 to $357 for the sunglasses.
Our take? Such merchandising is not new; famed auto manufacturer Ferrari is going crazy with licensing agreements like Ferrari laptop computers and such. Personally, we're waiting for the MB power drink: 8 ounces of smooth, subtle, nearly reliable taste costing $100 per eight ounce bottle. Hey, it's German.
