Saturn Outlook Is Crossover Hit Among Consumers

The Saturn division of General Motors continues to get kudos.

This time it is the Saturn Outlook crossover which has placed in two categories of the Consumer Reports. The SUVs go through 50 tests and evaluations which measure such things as acceleration, braking, and ease of use of the vehicles' controls and displays.

The August issue, which rates SUVs, ranks the Outlook third in the midsize SUV category behind the highly popular Toyota Highlander Hybrid and the Honda Pilot. In addition, the Outlook ranked second behind the Mercedes-Benz GL450 in the large SUV category.

Our take? So far, 2007 is looking like the year of Saturn as Outlook joins the Sky roadster and the Aura sedan (North America's Car of the Year) as another hit for the GM brand. Let's hope that, unlike Saturn's prior incarnation with its Ion, that GM doesn't drop the ball this time.

I believe GM has learned it's lesson and will not ignore SATURN'S great sales potential again. Right now, Saturn is GM's superstar that can return some of those penetration points lost to the Japanese and other Asian imports. The Saturn/Opel marrige was exactly what was needed to assure Saturn's place in the sun by offering import buyers high quality, well enginered, stylish performance cars in key market segments.
Well done Saturn.

I would like to say that I own a saturn outlook and I would not wish one on my worst enemy. It just got out of the shop after being in there 8 weeks. The service is also something to be desired, they are sure nice when you have your vehicle in there but the minute that you drive away they turn into not so caring of people. They don't follow through with what they promise. Buyers BEWARE!!!!
