Toyota CEO Is Leader Of The Year

Who do you think the Automotive News selected as the vehicle industry's leader of the year?

It should be to no one's surprise that the winner is Katsuaki Watanabe, president of Toyota Motor Corp. Apparently, it was his concern -- and the speed Toyota reacted -- to deal with the auto maker's recent quality issues as the initial reason for his selection. Incidently, Automotive News also selected him the Top Asian CEO.

Automotive News' selection of the Top North American CEO was left conspicuously open.

I'm not saying the honor wasn't deserved, but I'm personally getting a little tired of the gushing praise being continually heaped on Toyota. No company is perfect, not even the "Big T." I don't wish them ill, just maybe a little more attention to some of the up-and-comers in the industry.
