2007 GMC Sierra/Chevy Silverado Truck Challenge: Intro

Last week, I attended the the GMC Sierra/Chevrolet Silverado Truck Challenge at GM's Milford Proving Grounds.

There, I had a chance to test-drive not only the all-new GMC Sierra (Denali trim) and Chevy Silverado, but compare them to the Ford F-Series, Nissan Titan, and, of course, the all-new Toyota Tundra. While GM had made the Dodge Ram available, I did not have the time to drive it.

This week, I will discuss the tests and my findings over several blog posts.

I test drove the full size 2007 Chevy, GMC, Toyota and Ford. I bought the GMC Sierra and I'll tell you why.

When I tried the Ford F-150, it was powerless and handled like a regular car that can't handle. The room inside was good though and the over quality of this truck is good. I WANTED to like the Ford because I have a fleet account with Ford and could have ordered a greatly equipped truck for a minimal price. But it just didn't compare well to the GMC/Chevy when it comes to power and handling.

The Toyota Tuntra was another good quality truck but it was lacking in interior room. The power was good and it handles well but it's just not as comfortable on the inside as the GMC/Chevy is.

The Chevy and GMC are almost the same on the inside, so it's a matter of looks but the GMC offers more commercial grade/heavy duty options and seems to be a tad more popular with truck people who love their trucks.

I got the GMC Sierra Extended Cab because it's easier to park & Handles better than the crew cab.
