The Humvee, the military's version of a Jeep during the 1990s and today, evolved into the HUMMER, the consumers' version of the ultimate SUV.

Well, it seems that the Civil Defence of Dubai has evolved the Humvee/HUMMER once again, this time into a fire fighter.

Desastres fires up (sorry about the wordplay) the details on this HUMMER H2. Apparently, it has been modified with standard stuff like communications equipment, cameras, and run-flat tires. It is then further modified with water tanks and to carry fire-retardant foam and other such materials.

Our take? Perhaps it won't be long when we see HUMMERS on the streets of the U.S. with fire department insignia. That could be one way for GM to increase sales.
