Crossing The Road In Your Crossover Safely This Summer

Summer is almost here and Americans will be occupying the roadways destined for summer vacation spots.

Speculation is that a lot of the modes of transportation will be owned pickups, SUVs, and convertibles instead of summer rentals. So when you and your kids are playing "I spot", you will be calling out Pontiac Vibes, Subaru Bajas,  and Chrysler Pacificas instead of Mustang.

Meanwhile, dad will be keeping summer driving tips from AAA in mind as he negotiates the straight and curved highways of the country.

Carjunky encourages all summer drivers to:

  • Examine tires for inflation and uneven or excessive tread wear.
  • Inspect the belts, hoses, and fluids, looking for wear or cracks on the belts or damaged hoses.
  • Make sure the antifreeze/coolant is at the proper level.
  • Check motor oil level
  • Verify the venerable air conditioner is working properly.
  • Carry an emergency kit.
