Aston Martin, under new owner Prodrive, has announced it has given the green light to a production version of the concept.
The Rapide first debuted at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit last year. The Rapide sedan, whose full name is the Lagonde Rapide, was developed by the exotic luxury brand in reaction to competitor Maserati and its Quattroporte and Porsche Panamera four-doors. Aston Martin plans to start sales of the Rapide in 2010. Pricing details have yet to be released (or even determined). Prodrive plans to produce up to 2,000 Rapides per year.Additional articles:Aston Martin Leaves Ford.
