The sale of Aston Martin has been avidly pursued by the automotive industry like the paparazzi and Britney Spears. Unlike the latter pairing, it looks like the Aston's saga will be coming to a close.
Reuters (via the Daily Times) reports that sale of Ford's most prestigious of its Premier Automotive Group holdings (Aston Martin, Jaguar, Land Rover, and Volvo) may be finalized this week. Prodrive continues to be the frontrunner though firms representing Doughty Hanson and Simon Halabi.
Ford Motor Co. is selling Aston Martin as it continues to downsize to match its market share while fund other vehicle development. Our take? While the public's been watching the above mentioned Spears and the late Anna Nicole Smith, we've been trying to guess not only who will own Aston Martin, but when—not if—Chrysler will be purchased and by whom. At least thousands of families are not affected by the Spears and Smith fiascoes.
