Once again, a celebrity steps forward to promote the use of an electric car.
This time it is Tom Hanks who has purchased a custom all-electric Scion Xb. A company called AC Propulsion converted the compact UV into an electric car using a system called the eBox.
The conversion has a price tag of $55,000. The car can go up to 95 miles per hour and takes from two to five hours to recharge the 355 volt battery pack. Range is approximately 185 miles between charge.
This is not Hanks’ first electric car. Some of you may remember that he bought a General Motors EV1 when that car was first offered.
Our take? While the xB's a nice car, we think Tom should look into purchasing the Tesla EV sports car.
