Chevrolet HHR Bring All-American To Geneva Motor Show

While General Motors has made it plain it plans to expand internationally, even we were caught off-guard when Chevrolet Europe announced it was bringing the retro-HHR to the Geneva Motor Show next month.

The HHR, which stands for “Heritage High Roof”, is a remake of the late 1940’s Chevrolet Suburban. Car designer Brian Nesbitt, who also developed the similarly retro-Chrysler PT Cruiser, heavily influenced the HHR’s design.

According to Carscoop’s post, Chevrolet Europe is still discussing if it will sell the HHR in Europe. Management, most likely, is waiting to see the Europeans' reaction to this unabashed American design. Our take? Unlike the Cadillac BLS or Chevrolet Corvette, we think the HHR would do well across the pond. Its interior, spacious for such a small car, is similar to many European vehicles while its unique looks and inexpensive price would appeal to buyers who want something unique without having to break the bank. Our biggest concern is how fast Chevrolet cann install diesel engines, which dominate Europe, in the HHR.
