Such models would have fewer features and a V-6 engine, according to Nissan Larry Dominique. The North American product development chief added that such trucks would be aimed towards fleet sales as opposed to the regular customer.
Currently, all Titans use a V-8 engine with the least expensive model starting at $23,700. In comparison, rival General Motors offers a base Chevrolet Silverado starting around $15,800 while Ford prices its least expensive F-150 around $18,200.
Our take? A good strategy on Nissan’s part. The automaker could strike a blow against its true rival, Toyota, by aiming at the least expensive market while building up its sales numbers.
