First, keep in mind that Audi and Porsche are both owned by Volkswagen. So it is not surprising that this would stir all sorts of things up between the fraternal competitors.
However, rumors are flying that Audi will indeed develop a rival to be called the R4. It should be of no surprise, however, because Audi has introduced a direct rival to the Porsche 911 -- the Audi R8 which will go on sale in the spring.
Our take? We guess this competition is analogous to rival brothers in a small family. One has thrown down the gauntlet before the other.
