Ford is apparently trying to find roots for its Five Hundred (pictured). Talk is it plans to re-name the Five Hundred the Taurus reaching back to grasp into the 20 or so years of tradition for the family sedan.
There is actually a poll concerning this. Readers of Jalopnik have been asked their opinion about the name change. The numbers show that 58.8 percent favor the new monogram and 41.2 percent say just leave well enough alone.
Our take? A rose by any other name is still a rose. Unless Ford decides to stick the late (and lamented) Ford GT's engine in the new Taurus.
