Even though the 2014 Toyota Corolla hasn’t been on the market very long, it’s already involved in a recall for faulty windshield wipers, along with select 2013 and 2014 model year Avalon, Avalon Hybrid, Camry, and Camry Hybrid models.
The affected vehicles have a manufacturing mistake in the wiper switch assembly. When moving the wiper from “off” to “mist,” the system could potentially short circuit, causing the wipers to break. In the event that this happens, the likelihood of an accident would increase due to limited visibility.
Owners will be notified, and dealers will replace all affected wipers at no cost to the owner. So far, no accidents or injuries have been reported in relation to this recall.
