Last week, we got a couple of fuzzy sketches and images of the upcoming 2014 Kia Forte sedan. Today, Kia has finally decided to stop messing around and show us the whole thing. At least three photos worth.
Not surprisingly, the photos Kia released of the upcoming 2014 Kia Forte (known internationally as the Kia Cerato or Kia K3) are familiar by now. Not just because of last week’s teases, but because the new Forte will closely follow the design aesthetic we’ve seen from the Korean automaker. The Forte lies between the subcompact Kia Rio and the midsize Kia Optima in the automaker’s U.S. lineup, and the new Forte’s styling looks to split the difference between the two as well. Kia promises LED brake lights and headlight accents, more chrome, and a sleeker profile. With the bulbous headlights of a Kia Rio, but a clean and uncluttered profile and rear similar to the Optima, the new Kia Forte sedan has all the makings of being a style leader in the compact car class. And that’s saying something, seeing as how the segment has gotten better looking over the years thanks to the Hyundai Elantra and, more recently, the Dodge Dart.
For now, that’s about all we know about the new Kia Forte. Kia hasn’t released details on what’s under the hood, what the interior will look like, or what kinds of features the 2014 Kia Forte will have, beyond the usual “better economy/roomier/advanced features” pablum. We’ll surely find out more as the weeks roll by, but based solely on looks, we’re guessing the 2014 Kia Forte will only enhance the Korean automaker’s sales juggernaut.
