Kia has re-entered the U.S. full-size car market, with the official news today for pricing information on the 2014 Kia Cadenza full-size sedan. Starting at $35,900, including $800 for destination and handling, a considerable sum for a Kia. There’s also a considerable number of features included in that price–and the two option packages that are also available.
In the base car, passengers will be greeted with standard keyless entry; UVO with eServices, Kia’s second-generation infotainment suite; a navigation system with SiriusXM NavTraffic; Bluetooth; an eight-inch infotainment screen; a 12-speaker, 550-watt Infinity stereo system; rear camera; and leather seats with power and heating elements in the front.
Stepping up from there is the $38,900 Kia Cadenza with the Luxury package, which adds a full-length panoramic sunroof, power retractable sunshade, Nappa leather like what’s available in the Kia Optima SX-L, heated seats for rear outboard passengers, a ventilated 12-way power adjustable driver’s seat, HID headlights with adaptive lighting, a seven-inch LCD gauge cluster, a heated steering wheel with power tilt and telescoping functions, and a two-position memory seat for the driver.
The top $41,900 Technology package-equipped 2014 Kia Cadenza includes 19-inch wheels, an electronic parking brake, active cruise control, blind spot detection, and lane departure warning. It also comes with front windows coated in a hydrophobic material to repel water.
Powering the 2014 Kia Cadenza is a 3.3-liter V-6 that makes 293 horsepower, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. The Cadenza will be on sale later this month, and we’ll be putting it through its paces here in a few weeks to let you know what it’s like. We’ve driven the 2013 Hyundai Azera, which shares the Cadenza’s underpinnings. It felt like a nice overall car, but a bit dated and with an unsorted suspension. We’re eager to see if Kia’s version can rectify the little issues and become a class leader with luxury features at a still relatively mainstream price.
