Set to debut at this month’s New York Auto Show are the refreshed 2014 Honda Odyssey and the all-new 2014 Acura MDX . The 2014 Odyssey is set to further strengthen its position as the most family-friendly vehicle, and the 2014 MDX will solidify its place in the three-row luxury SUV category.
At both the press and public days, the 2014 Honda Odyssey will be on display at Honda’s booth, along with the 2014 Accord Plug-In and 2013 Fit EV. The new Odyssey is likely to follow in its predecessor’s footsteps to earn an IIHS Top Safety Pick. The 2014 Honda Odyssey will add to the vehicle’s status for having the strongest ownership value in its class. Aside from that, Honda is tight lipped on what will be new about the Odyssey, but we’re guessing Honda’s six-speed automatic will probably be offered across the lineup, instead of just in the Touring models.
The third-generation 2014 Acura MDX uses a brand new platform, offering better fuel economy, more comfort, and a more versatile cabin. Under the hood will be a direct-injected 3.5-liter V-6 engine offered in either two-wheel-drive or SH-AWD variants. The MDX has a longer wheelbase that helps to improve legroom and access to the third row. New driver assists will also be available on the 2014 Acura MDX, including a Multi-Angle Rearview Camera and Lane Keeping Assist System among others.
The new MDX will most likely receive top safety ratings from both the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. More information will soon be revealed before the 2014 Acura MDX makes its debut at the 2013 New York Auto Show.
