The 2014 Chevrolet Silverado is easily one of the Chevy’s most crucial offerings, and the automaker has created a new campaign to celebrate its full size pickup. At the heart of the campaign is a new song, “Strong,” written specifically for the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado. The song is performed by Grammy-nominated recording artist Will Hoge, and will air in Texas before it rolls out nationally later in July.
Chevrolet’s targeting of Texas is no accident, as one of every six full-size pickup trucks is sold in the Lone Star state. “There is no more appropriate place to launch the new Silverado campaign than in Texas, the heart of truck country, and no better way to launch it than through music,” said Tim Mahoney, Global Chevrolet chief marketing officer. “Chevrolet has a long-standing relationship with the music, and Chevys have been mentioned in more than 800 popular songs,” Mahoney added.
The current advertising focuses on attributes that might resonate with Silverado owners, and includes lyrics Chevy hopes will strike a chord with truck owners. Future spots will focus on specific features of the vehicle. The Chevrolet Silverado starts at $24,585 for a regular cab after delivery, and can clear $50,000 in a loaded crew cab version.
